Are you the best Bloody Momoa maker in NZ?

Terms and Conditions

Participation in The Bloody Momoa 2023 is open to all New Zealand based establishments that have a valid liquor license.

 

 

  • It is free to enter The Bloody Momoa – you just need to provide one complimentary Bloody Momoa cocktail for our judges to taste.
  • This competition is conducted by Blanc Distribution.
  • The Competition will be conducted throughout New Zealand with one overall winner.
  • Competition registration opens at 9am on the 10th of October 2023 and ends at midnight on the 31st of October 2023.
  • Entries will be accepted from bars, pubs, cafes & restaurants.
  • Judging will commence on the 1st of November 2023. Judges will show their official Bloody Momoa Judges pass to redeem their complimentary cocktail, any other products ordered will be paid for.
  • Make sure you post about your entry on your social media pages to get The Bloody Momoa punters in to taste your creation.
  • The winner will be announced on Monday the 4th of December 2023.

Key Timeline

  • 10th October: Registration opens.
  • 31st October: Registration closes.
  • 1st November: Judging commences & your Bloody Momoa must be available on your menu, a menu insert, or on your specials board.
  • 30th November: Judging finishes.
  • 4th December: Winner announced.

Judging Criteria

To qualify to win The Bloody Momoa your cocktail must contain:

  • Gold medal winning Meili Vodka – the bottle will be displayed on the bar.
  • Must in some way resemble or be a variation of a Bloody Mary recipe.
  • Your entry must be easily found on your cocktail list, wine list or blackboard by our judges.
  • Your Bloody Momoa must be on the menu and available for judging during all hours of operation for the month of November. The winning establishment must feature their cocktail on the menu for the duration of December 2023.
  • If the cocktail is not available for purchase when the judge arrives the entrant will be disqualified.
  • If an entrant is closed during advertised operating hours the entrant will be disqualified.

Marks will be awarded for

  1. Presentation.
  2. Innovation/Originality
  3. Taste.
  4. Extra credit: Post a photo or video of your Bloody Momoa on your Instagram page and tag @thebloodymomoa for bonus points.

Judge's decision

The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Prizes

  • The Bloody Momoa Trophy – to be kept for one year.
  • A year’s supply of Alderson’s pickles: one tub per month for 12 months (because we love these pickles).
  • A Meili prize pack including black t-shirt, orange t-shirt and Meili trucker cap.
  • A winners mention on the official Blanc and Meili Instagram pages.
  • A special surprise (shhh we can’t tell you just yet).
